The WHY of Boudoir Photo Shoots

I neglect my blog – there i said it, and admit it!

Often my boudoir clients like to keep their images private – which i understand and respect.  Lately, I have been given the go ahead to post images (which of course i love) !   I”ll try to cover a few topic over the next few posts, using some of these gorgeous women’s photos!

So the big question:   Why Boudoir?  Why do a session?  Why do women want one?

Here’s my take on it.  As women, we are flooded with images of gorgeous, perfect looking women.   Magazines, ads, tv…. you name it, it’s there.   Most of us can admire these stunning females – and all of us have those twinges of jealousy.   Not so much to want to be them – or even to look like them, but to feel that we too could see an image of ourselves and LOVE it.

How often does that happen?  Are you laughing saying NEVER???!!!!   Generally we see pictures, where maybe we had bad posture, we were caught talking, laughing, making a weird face – or wearing an outfit we thought looked great on us, and the photo says something totally different.  No wonder we doubt that we could ever love our own pictures!

Here’s what you need to know.   Those beautiful photographs you see in magazines?  That drop dead gorgeous woman in the sitcom you love?   They have a team – they have people that know what they’re doing!   Stylists, makeup artists, hair team, lashes, wardrobe – and quite possibly a personal chef and trainer.   Point being they have help – a lot of help.   And those images you see, they are taken by professional photographers who know how to pose the body, light the body, and yes…. EDIT IN PHOTOSHOP!

This conversation is one I always have with potential clients.  Although I can’t be your personal chef or trainer leading up to your shoot, I can handle the other areas.   An onsite stylist, will start you with makeup, lashes and hair – all done after a consult about the look you are going for.   I’ll walk you through packing  a variety of outfits – to give your session range.   And the day of,  I’ll help you pull your look all together.   I’ll guide you through posing, and tweak it until it’s camera perfect.  You will be sore!   Think models have it easy?  Think again!

Getting it right in camera is a must – Photoshop editing is used to just enhance.  You will look like you.   You will look gorgeous.  You will love your pictures.  I promise!
