While shooting a wedding last year, I bumped into a family that I knew from my teaching days. Nicole’s sister, Jackie, was one of my students in third grade. It’s always shocking to me when I bump into the “kids” I taught. I still see their cute little faces from elementary school! It wasn’t long after that Nicole and Andrew got engaged, and her mother Peggy contacted me to photograph their wedding. Sitting down with them to discuss details of their day, was a little more relaxed as there was already a comfort level between us.
The wedding and ceremony would be held in Lake George. Their reception at the beautiful Inn at Erlowest, and ceremony at a church not far down Lake Shore Drive. It’s such a gorgeous area, especially in October. Nicole would be getting ready in the bridal suite, and Andrew in the condos down below.
The ladies were finishing up hair and makeup when I arrived. Nicole’s dress, stunning! The bride would be dressed by her mother only. A very intimate time for just the two of them.
Andrew and the guys were just about set. It was time for the Groom to put on his coat, and get ready to see his bride.
Nicole and Andrew did decide to do a first look. I personally love this option! There’s always excited stress leading up to the ceremony. I love seeing them laugh, tear, kiss, and mostly relax! A few in the bridal party were peeking in the windows, so of course we did some photos with them all together before heading to the church.

The guests headed back to the Inn for cocktail hour. I took the couple and and went down to the lake for a few more pictures. I want to tell you that on the way back, it was snowing. Yup – white flakes and cold!!! Thankfully it didn’t last. Nicole and Andrew were troopers and not only did they entertain more outdoor pictures, we all got in a beautiful wood boat and went for a ride on the lake!
Once the couple and their bridal party were announced, dancing and celebrating followed. I loved being with you on your wedding day Nicole and Andrew! Congratulations again!
